The depth of this team is going to be tested over the next

Shooting their shots

Here are the shot numbers for Gotham.

KC: 16

Washington: 15

LA: 7

Racing: 13

San Diego: 8

Orlando: 7

Slowly but surely, shots are increasing. And with those shots are coming chances. However, this team is not capitalizing on those chances. Only one big chance created in this match and one big chance missed. 16 shots and 10 off target. 7 of these shots coming from outside the box. Only two shots were blocked. The effort is there but it's rushed effort. Players are pulling the trigger too quickly and not allowing for the play to develop. Progress is definitely being made here. But players need to be able to find the target. Especially Mewis who skyed two chances where she was nearly uncontested.

264 minutes

Since the introduction of Torres into the line-up, Gotham went 264 minutes without giving up a goal. 9 minutes after Taryn being subbed out KC gets a goal from the area Torres was patrolling. The partnership of Zerboni and Torres is bearing fruit. However, both players cannot play every minute of every game. The non-inclusion of Jennifer Cudjoe is troubling. The team doesn't have any other defensive minded midfielder on roster. If Cudjoe is not going to be utilized then Gotham needs to use the open roster spot on another defensive midfield option. Especially if this team is going to continue to employ two 6's.

Depth of this roster to be tested:

International competition is on the horizon, starting in July. Gotham has 4 games across July and will be without multiple starters. Attackers Mewis, Purce, and Onumonu will be away with National team.

With Gina Lewandowski retiring next month, Gotham's stacked center back depth will be tested. Estelle Johnson will be away with the Cameroon National team throughout the month of July. Leaving Gotham with only Krieger, Freeman and Livingstone (ankle) on the roster. While Freeman and Krieger are a great pairing, expecting these two to avoid NWSL chaos for an entire month seems unlikely. Will Livingstone be healthy and ready for action by the time for international window?

Going to be an interesting month. Gotham needs results these next couple of games so as they don't need to rely to heavily on getting max points from a heavily rotated squad.
