Gotham FC Bolsters Roster with National Team Replacements

HARRISON, NJ 07/18/2024 – In a move to solidify their lineup during the ongoing international break, NJ/NY Gotham FC announced the signing of four talented players today. These signings aim to fill the gaps left by Gotham FC stars currently competing in the 2024 Olympics.

  • Nicole Baxter (Midfielder): A solid midfielder known for her progressive playing style and ability to stifle opposing attacks. Winning a high percentage of both tackles and duels. A NJ native and fan favorite, Nicole appeared 9 times for Gotham FC. Nicole has appeared twice on the podcast. Once as a guest and once as a guest host.

  • Gabriella Cuevas (Center Back): A Wayne no native.  A creative and technically gifted center back. Cuevas has represented the Dominican Republic at the senior level.

  • Sabrina Flores (Forward): An athletic outside back. Sabrina never could quite get going with Sky Blue / Gotham FC due to a long spell of injuries. Another NJ native and fan favorite.

  • Mackenzie Pluck (Midfielder): North Wales, PA native. A young and promising midfielder who was drafted to Angel City from Duke University. Trained and traveled with Gotham in the Women's Cup preseason tournament and remained training with the club.

These signings demonstrate Gotham FC's commitment to remaining competitive throughout the season despite the absence of their national team players.

#Oncegotham Players Find New Homes in USL Super League

With the growth of the USL Super League, several former Gotham FC players have found new opportunities within the league.

  • Kellyann Livingstone (center back): After a successful spell overseas last season, Kellyann has made a permanent move to the Carolina Ascent. Her passing ability and aerial presence will be valuable assets to Carolina.

  • Megan McClellan (Keeper): Megan joins Kellyann at Carolina to continue her professional development. Megan was invaluable to Gotham in their run to the championship and was used as a practice player but was brought along to the championship game.

  • Annika Creel (Center back): Annika was signed as a national team replacement last season after impressing at Indy 11. Joins Kellyann and Megan at Carolina

  • Cyera Hintzen (Attacker): Cyera joined Annika as a national team replacement player at Gotham FC last season. Cyera did see a couple minutes for the club. Cyera is a talent. Played in Iceland, and in Australia. Should shine for the Dallas Trinity

  • Domi Richardson (Midfielder) made 42 appearances for Sky Blue / Gotham FC. Scoring 2 goals. Injuries derailed the final seasons at Gotham. Signed for the Tampa Sun

  • Darya Rajee (Midfielder). Joined Gotham FC in preseason Women's Cup tournament. This box to box Midfielder didn't see the field but should develop at Fort Lauderdale United.

  • Nia Christopher (Attacker). Also joined Gotham FC preseason. Bermudian national team player and should rack up goals at Fort Lauderdale United
