Post game reaction. Chicago Red Stars

During our pilot episode of our podcast we pointed out that Chicago was just too talented of a team to be playing this poorly. Although Chicago was without world cup veteran Julie Ertz they bossed the game. Essentially waiting out Gotham's possession heavy style for turnovers. Then quickly playing direct up the channels to speedy forwards Pugh and Watts.

Gotham's defence came up big again. Bending but not breaking. Sheridan showed why she's a top keeper in all of women's soccer coming up with big time saves and organizing a second straight shut out to start the season.

Something needs to change though. Gotham is just not generating quality in the attacking third. Lloyd isn't a natural number ten. Gotham needs to look to bring in a player who can play that final pass and has the legs to cover more ground and combine with the wingers. Perhaps Pinto is that player. 1 goal in two games just isn't enough.

Gotham escapes Chicago with a point and is undefeated through two games with two shutouts.

Player of game: Sheridan. Solid performance.
