NJ/NY Gotham FC have signed free agent defender Kristen Edmonds to a new 2 year NWSL contract through 2024 season, the club announced Dec 1st.
Edmonds, 35, a Metuchen NJ Native, Rutgers alumni, is Jersey through and through. Kristen is a well traveled player who has had played in Russia and Iceland abroad. Also has played for the Western New York Flash, the Orlando Pride and most recently for the 2022 NWSL runner up KC Current.

There may not be another player in the league that represents New Jersey more thoroughly than Kristen. Kristen always bring that attitude and grit.
A very technical player with a very high soccer IQ, Kristen can play multiple positions on the pitch. Lat season, Kristen featured mainly as a center back but also got some time at right midfield. Edmonds adds a quality of depth all across the back line and in midfield. A high character player who is a locker room leader as well. Should fit in seamlessly as having already played along side multiple current Gotham players such as Ali Krieger and Victoria Pickett.
On the field, Kristin is a tireless worker and motivator. Kristin doesn't score many goals but when she does, they are spectacular. She has multiple goals of the week honors.

Edmonds joins a group of center backs that include Ali Krieger, Mandy Freeman and Kelly Ann Livingstone.
