NJ/NY Gotham FC have signed free agent keeper to a new three-year NWSL contract through 2025 season, the club announced Monday.

Smith, 29, has represented the US at the 17, 20 and the U23 level. Born in Portland Oregon. Smith played her college career at the University of Texas before turning pro. ““I couldn’t be more excited about my decision to join Gotham FC,” said Smith. “This experience has been educational and empowering. I feel so fortunate to be amongst the first class of athletes in the NWSL to benefit from the new CBA’s free agency policy. Gotham FC made their feelings known immediately and I was so impressed by their support and professionalism throughout the entire process. This organization values its players and its community, and those two qualities are most important to me. I can’t wait to come to New Jersey and get to work on the field and in my new community.” - Gotham FC press release

Abby Smith is a player that fits Gotham's culture on and off the field. Abby prides herself in giving back to the community. "I think giving back is a really important thing in that it encompasses a big part of why we are playing. We are playing to give back to the people who have paved the way. Also for our supporters who allow us to live out our dream." -Utah Royals intro video. You can see more about Abby's work in the community here:
