Ertz injury:
No news on the leg injury to Julie Ertz. MRI was scheduled Monday but as of Wednesday no new news. Which is curious. If Ertz is not able to play that is a huge hole to fill for the Red Stars. Former sky blue captain Sarah Woldmoe would be a likely candidate to fill that role. Either way Chicago is much less formidable without one of the best players in all of women's soccer. Story to keep an eye on.
Keeping another clean sheet:
One things for certain in soccer. You can't lose if your opponents can't score. Gotham had held multiple shutouts during their run to the challenge cup final. And have up only one to perennial powerhouse Portland thorns. With Sheridan back in net the odds only increase. Chicago has a talented attack with Watts and Pugh. Gotham is coming off a game where they kept Houston's talented attack of the board.
Zerboni's return?
In some Facebook stories from Gotham today Zerboni looked to be practicing in full. If McCall is healthy that adds another strong performer to an already loaded midfield. Where she fits in is uncertain with Long playing so well next to Cudjo.
